I have a portable DVD player with built-in TV tuner, which I bought in the U.S.. I am in southern Africa and it can not get to run TV channels. The DVD side is working properly.

hmmm, I would have thought would have more problems with the DVD is in Zone 1 and NTSC. I think SA TV broadcast signals are somewhere btwn about 89Mhz and 107MHz. Not sure about the States, no one knows?
